Ricardo Cruz
Hello! My name is Ricardo Cruz, from Monterrey, México. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Robotics and Digital Systems at Tec de Monterrey. Throughout my journey as a student, I have explored embedded systems, control systems, physics, machine learning, etc. Robotics requires a wide range of multidisciplinary skills. This convergence of areas is what I find appealing. In my home university, I am member of an autonomous vehicle research group and I work on acoustic localization of an unmanned underwater vehicle. Also, last semester I was an undergraduate research trainee at the MACRObotics group at McGill university. Here I worked on acoustic tactile sensing for mobile robot wheels and co-authored a paper which is under review. This summer I will be working on Social Robot Navigation at Prof. Jean Oh’s Bot Intelligence Group-BIG. I am thankful for this opportunity and I’m eager to meet everyone and explore the city of Pittsburgh.
