Leonardo Santos
I’m Leonardo Santos, from Brazil, and I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais-UFMG, Brazil. My previous research experience lies on different areas of planning in robotics. At UFMG I’ve worked on multi-robot path planning with communication constraints at the Computer Vision and Robotics Lab-VeRLab with Prof. Douglas Macharet. In the summer of 2023, I was a RISS intern at the AirLab where I worked on search & track with autonomous UAVs with Prof. Sebastian Scherer. Then, in the Fall of 2023, I was fortunate to be at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, as an exchange student, where I worked on safe robot planning with Prof. Jana Tumova. This summer, I’m thrilled to further explore safe robot decision making among humans with Prof. Andrea Bajcsy. I’m very grateful for the wonderful mentors and opportunities I had so far, and specially thankful for all the RISS organizers for making such an amazing program possible.
