Justin Shaneman
Hi everyone! I’m Justin Shaneman, a rising sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Engineering with a potential minor in Computer Science. This summer, I’ll be working with Dr. Dubrawski and Dr. Nick Gisolfi in the Auton Lab, exploring the integration of generative AI into a lab setting to benefit researchers. Previously, I conducted research in the Biometrics lab, focusing on real-time object detection using the COCO dataset. Originally from Maryland, I moved to Pittsburgh in 2011. Outside of academics, I enjoy traveling, trying new things, and playing basketball and volleyball. I’m thrilled to be part of the RISS program this summer and grateful to my mentors, Dr. Artur W.Dubrawski and Dr. Nick Gisolfi, as well as the RISS directors, Dr. John Dolan and Rachel Burcin, for this incredible opportunity to learn and grow.
