Ignacy Stępka is a second-year CS/AI student at Poznan University of Technology in Poland. His research interests lie in the field of eXplainable AI with a specific focus on foundational research in explanation techniques. Ignacy’s current research at the MLLab at his home university is focused on developing counterfactual explanations for black-box models. He’s been actively involved in designing a method to adapt these explanations to meet the objectives of various stakeholders. Previously, Ignacy was also a part of a research team that tackled the problem of anomaly detection in a large HPC cluster based on usage time series data. In the future, he wants to pursue a Ph.D. in a research lab that addresses crucial issues in ML explainability, trustworthiness, or a field that holds yet unknown inspiration. This summer, Ignacy will be working with Dr. Nick Gisolfi and Professor Artur Dubrawski on explainability within various applied scenarios. He feels grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to connecting with like-minded individuals who share the same passion and dedication to research!
