Kangqi Ni

Kangqi, also known as Kevin, is a rising junior pursuing a degree in computer science at Rice University in Houston, Texas. His passion lies in the fields of Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Human-Robot Interaction. Throughout his academic journey, Kevin has delved into diverse research areas, including classification algorithms and generative models applied to medical imaging, person re-identification and SLAM algorithms for UAVs, and transformer-based models for automated short answer grading. He is excited to work with Dr. Reid Simmons at the Reliable Autonomous Systems Lab, where he will be working on a robot exercise tutor project over the summer. This research opportunity provided by the RISS community mentors and sponsors is truly invaluable, and he really appreciates all their efforts in making this research endeavor possible.
