Victoria Rodriguez de León
My name is Victoria de León, and I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Robotics and Digital Systems at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City, Mexico. My academic experience has been quite thrilling, as I’ve had the opportunity to explore electronics, low- and high-level programming, physics applied to robotics, embedded systems, and robot simulations using ROS2, among others. I also had the opportunity to work on research related to the use of humanoid robotics for social applications. Following that, I recently founded a laboratory for the development of humanoid robotics and biomedical devices. I am marveled by everything related to biology combined with robotics, including biologically inspired robots and the use of robotics for healthcare applications. This summer, I’m thrilled to work at the Robotic Caregiving and Human Interaction Lab under the guidance of Prof. Zachory Erickson, where I’ll be developing a wearable device for detecting scratch intensity. This device will aid in diagnosing skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Overall, I’m passionate about developing technologies that can improve human life quality. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program by contributing to the research of the Robotics Institute and by connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and interests.
