Will Scott
Will graduated from the University of Pittsburgh this year with a degree in computer engineering. He is interested in learning more about integrating robotics with education. This summer, he will be researching in the Social Haptics Robotics and Education Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Melisa Martinez. Will is excited to collaborate in a team-oriented environment, as opposed to the test-based model in classrooms within academia. He feels this environment aligns with his work style more by granting him the freedom to explore his interests without the overt fear of failure. Furthermore, Will looks forward to refining his communication skills and building his professional network with like-minded peers. Will cannot wait to use the technical knowledge and skills learned from RISS to empower his local community: building a framework for after-school programs designed to expose underrepresented minorities to robotic concepts in a safe environment. Will would like to thank his sponsors and the RISS staff for believing in him and supporting him to pursue this opportunity.
